Tamarara Greenley
Tam Greenley took a beginner's class in decorative painting in January '97 as a way to get out of the house more in winter and to meet new people...and hated painting! But considering that it was only a four class session, she decided to at least finish the month out. Long before the month was over she was addicted to decorative painting and even now takes several classes a week, as well as teaching her 'addiction' to others. Having a wonderful old farmhouse means she has a room that's perfect for a studio, as well as outside access for the store.
The studio will house not only decorative art classes, but a number of local artists will be guest-teaching year-round and will offer classes in water colour, oils, pastels, even cross-stitch!
As a member of the Madoc Artisan's Guild, Tam wanted to showcase as many of the local artists as possible and to that end they will also be invited to teach outdoors in summer.
The Rosemary House store carries several lines of good quality brushes for decorative painting, as well as Delta and Americana paints and any other equipment needed including unpainted wood surfaces. Tam can also order in any products needed by artists in other media, ie oils, pastels, watercolours, etc
Please mark your calendar...April 2,3,4, 2004 as that's when Rosemary House Studio will be having their Open House.....come out to see the classes that are being offered, meet the artists who will be teaching, have a coffee...and enjoy!
Meanwhile, the store is now open and if you call 473-1222 or email gemma@kos.net Tam will give you the easy directions to Rosemary House. |
This memory box is of a size that will sit nicely on a dresser, but has a good interior size for those papers, or small momentos that you want to keep.
