Joanne has pursued her interest in photography since first joining the high school year book staff in her home town of Stratford, Ontario.
After graduating from the three-year photography program at Fanshawe College in London, she began a career as a darkroom technician.
Over the years she expanded to the fields of advertising photography using large and medium format cameras and studio lighting, to architectural photography, executive portraits, family portraits and weddings. During this time she continually upgraded her photographic training through degree courses at Ryerson Polytechnic University in Toronto and fine art training and design at Ontario College of Art.
Her focus in art is to use nature’s light and design to capture colour and B&W images that portray feelings and mood.
“I want others to look at a photograph and be awestruck by the fragile beauty of our world. If a picture is powerful enough it may inspire people to stand up and protect the Earth and all life forms struggling to survive.”
