Allen Hilgendorf
Allen C. Hilgendorf was born and raised in a
farming community in south western Ontario. It was there that he developed a deep appreciation for the natural world around him.
In later years, he had the chance to live and
travel in many parts of Canada and the United States. With this wide range of interests and wealth of experiences, Allen began to exercise a natural ability in sketching and painting.
Due to an automobile accident in 1991, Allen was
forced to retrain. He was readily accepted into the School of Design and Visual Arts at Georgian College where he majored in Graphic illustration. After graduating, he launched his business.
Since then, Allen has excelled as a landscape painter, specializing in giant interior and exterior murals. To date, at least ninety murals, small and great, now grace the walls of many towns and communities across Ontario.
The artist is also very proficient in painting
nostalgic, rural images in oils, and has published a number of limited and open edition reproductions.
Allen C. Hilgendorf considers his talent an
expression of love for God, creation, the gift of
life, and all good things. He and his family live near scenic Bancroft, Ontario. |
